Kind Words

I have been seeing Sara for the past five years for reflexology treatments. As well as being exceptionally well trained and professional, Sara has a naturally instinctive way of treating her clients. No treatment has ever been the same and I can honestly say that I have always felt so much better having seen her. She is also a very lovely person, in whom I have total confidence.
If you have a specific problem, or just if you want to give yourself a really lovely hour with benefits that last a long time after, I really recommend seeing Sara.

Sara is an incredible reflexologist. I’d see Sara if I was stressed and tense, or tried and without fail would come away feeling centred, calm and re-energised. When I was pregnant, sessions with Sara helped me develop coping skills that I could draw on during the labour. My husband also sings her praises for her deep tissue massage.

My husband and I regularly have sessions with Sara and find it extremely helpful for de-stressing.. The relaxation is actually deeper than when we get a massage. I love how she can touch my foot and relax my neck. I started going to Sarah when I was 8 months pregnant and she helped me turn our baby so it was in position to come out (she claims this is not due to her, but it was!) and we have been hooked since then...our child is now 11 years old. And my husband loves it, but doesn’t like to get reflexology from anyone but Sara, as others always disappoint relative to her!

Sweep plus reflexology seemed to do the trick last week as I went into labour on Thursday and our daughter, Mia Willow Reid was born just after midnight on Friday morning. My induction was actually delayed by a day due to congestion at the hospital so we got the little bit of extra time we needed!

I started seeing Sara during my third trimester of pregnancy. Relatively speaking I had experienced a pretty easy pregnancy but nobody gets away scott free so I certainly had my issues too. Embarrassingly, I had been extremely constipated for most of my pregnancy and this was very uncomfortable. I also found sleeping very difficult from week 30 onwards so I was pretty exhausted and sleep deprived when I started seeing Sara.

With respect to the constipation - the results were immediate. Things started to improve literally straight after our first session together. I was actually shocked as I had had no experience of reflexology before and had come in prepared to be convinced but not entirely sure whether it was something I really thought would work! I am converted - the work Sara did with me was truly fantastic. I was a lot more regular from the point of seeing Sara through to the end of my pregnancy. I would also point out that this was an issue for me even before getting pregnant and that has all cleared up since. I am completely regular now which is nothing short of a miracle!! I saw Sara recently for a massage and both of us noted how when she worked on my foot the areas related to the colon on the foot which had been painful to touch before were completely fine now.

Make sure when you do go to see Sara that you have allowed yourself a couple of hours down time after! I would mostly go home and sleep - something I had not been able to do very much of for months! The sleep was very deep and satisfying so for that alone I was delighted as I was tormented with the lack of sleep during pregnancy. Another thing she really helped me to do was relax and let go. I have a tendency to be all systems go 24/7 and Sara worked hard to get me to teach myself to zone out and just go into a very deep state of relaxation. I had a long and painful labour but the preparation I had done with Sara really helped. I was aware of how best to deal with pain and how to focus my attention away from the pain of the contractions and push that outwards. It still was no walk in the park (!) but the stuff I had covered with Sara was invaluable.

I cannot recommend Sara enough. She is truly fantastic at what she does and also a gorgeous person to deal with. Anyone who goes to see her will just adore her and I have no doubt she can help you with any of the trials and tribulations of your pregnancy. But not just that - I can see myself going to Sara any time in the future if other stuff comes up. Thank you Sara for everything - I am a big fan and firm advocate of reflexology as an alternative form of medicine thanks to you! Oh and lastly - I started having contractions soon after my last session with Sara where we focused on bring on labour. Now that is impressive!

I would recommend Sara to all my friends, whether they need her help or simply for relaxation. Her professional, warm and friendly welcome puts you at ease from the beginning. I found Sara after experiencing a miscarriage, I was desperate to feel myself again and also to get pregnant. Through reflexology she helped rebalance my hormonal state and relax me, the next month I was delighted to find out I was pregnant once again.

Throughout my pregnancy, I saw Sara on a regular basis. As my body changed, she helped to make each stage comfortable and soothe any problems but most of all it was a blissful hour of relaxation which left me feeling energised, a blessing with an energetic toddler.

As I approached the end of my pregnancy, Sara suggested we try some breathing and visualisation to assist with the birth of my baby. After a c-section for my first child as he was breeched, I was willing to try anything for a comfortable labour to ensure I could look after two children as quickly as possible. Armed with a TENS machine, some gas, very focussed breathing and the visualisation Sara had taught me,. Charlotte was born two hours after arriving at the hospital. It was amazing to have such a quick labour and recover so quickly, I really believe Sara helped the whole process and it certainly made it more relaxed.

I still continue to see Sara on a regular basis, she now combines reflexology with massage and Indian head massage to give me a perfect hour to myself!

I’ve been having weekly massage sessions in my home with Sara for many years. She’s the best masseur I’ve come across, as she blends a number of different styles and techniques into the treatment, depending on my requirements at the time. She also often incorporates stretching into the sessions, which I find really enhances the benefits of the treatments. Some of the stretches and massage techniques employed from time to time require some physical exertion on Sara’s part, but she always displays commitment to providing whatever treatment is appropriate. I find that the sessions help me to relax, and to de-stress. I also sleep better following regular treatments. I can highly recommend Sara as a cut above regular massage therapists

When I first went to Sara I was very sceptical about how she could help, but she really has got me back in tune with my body. In my work it is very important to feel open and relaxed. Sara helps me do this in a very positive way, which allows me to work better. Sara helped release the tension in my shoulder which physiotherapy had not done.

Sara offered amazing support throughout the duration of my pregnancy. The reflexology and massage treatments helped to ease some of the pregnancy related ailments I was experiencing including back pain, discomfort, insomnia and indigestion.

The visualisation Sara did with me throughout every treatment was also beneficial, helping me to relax and prepare for the birth and also helping me bond with my baby. Sara also taught my husband some wonderful massage techniques which were really useful throughout the pregnancy- unfortunately we didn’t use them during labour and it would be amazing if he could remember some of them now!!

I always enjoyed my treatments with Sara and looked forward to my sessions. I even had a reflexology treatment when I was in labour to help speed things along.

Sara has a wonderful, gentle and reassuring nature, instantly making you feel comfortable and at ease. Sara’s technique it not only soothing and relaxing but also very effective. I have no hesitation in recommending her treatments to any expecting mum (and Dad!)

Sara’s massages and reflexology proved fantastic relaxation during my second pregnancy. I always arrived in a slightly frazzled and hormonal state yet Sara managed to relax me in no time - to the point that, rather embarrassingly, I tended to fall asleep during treatments!

She was also a great support emotionally in the build up to the birth. I had spent a lot of time worrying about whether to attempt a VBAC or to schedule a repeat caesarean. I held some lingering negative thoughts about the birth of my first child via emergency caesarean. During our sessions and with some interesting ‘homework’ Sara helped me to work through these thoughts which put me in a good position to make a confident decision regarding the birth of my second child. I did end up scheduling a repeat caesarean which turned out to be a relaxing, calm and enjoyable experience.

I first met Sara just weeks before my due date. My only regret is that I didn’t see her earlier on in my pregnancy as I now know that she could’ve helped with many of the everyday aches and pains of pregnancy in addition to helping my body prepare for the marathon that is labour!

The reflexology sessions were so relaxing. The combination of the treatment along with the meditative tracks we listened to helped me drift off into a world of my own. At any time this is bliss, but none more so than when heavily pregnant and uncomfortable. I was due over the Christmas / New Year holidays, but Sara still made the effort to fit sessions in despite this.

Once I was overdue, I had just a couple of very powerful reflexology sessions with Sara. The last one I had, was the day before I finally went into Labour. I was desperate; the hospital were due to induce me that morning but I was not so keen as I really didn’t want any intervention unless absolutely necessary. The baby was fine so they let me home for the weekend. I had until Monday morning, otherwise, induction it was! I rang Sara just before midday and to my joy, she was over at our house just a few hours later. The cynics in this world might just put it down to coincidence that I had my little girl the next day, but I am not so sure!

Sara contacted me the next week keen to hear my news. She was the biggest support in the early days after the birth, emailing me with lots of advice to help with my recovery. I have had post-natal treatments with her, whereby she has used a combination of reflexology and massage. These are really helping my body get back to it’s former self.

I can also recommend Baby Massage with Sara. I got together with my NCT group and Sara came over to my house weekly for the sessions. In addition to the massage being so beneficial, Sara’s tuition will allow you such a special bonding time with your baby. I use the techniques that Sara taught us on a very regular basis and my baby is now very familiar with it. For the most part it is just a lovely relaxing bit of ‘us time’ but she also realises when I am trying to help her with massage and that is such a wonderful thing.

I can’t recommend Sara highly enough. Even if you don’t have any specific issues that you want ‘treated’, if you are pregnant and in need of a little ‘you time’ (which believe me, you are), then Sara’s healing hands are the way forward!

I had my first reflexology treatment when I was 13 weeks pregnant,I had always been sceptical but terrible morning sickness meant I was willing to try anything. It was the best decision I could have made as without my regular treatments with Sara my pregnancy would have been very uncomfortable. From the second treatment I noticed an improvement in my morning sickness and when a few months later an old back injury began to play up and I developed pelvic Girdle pain Sara’s combination of massage and reflexology treatments brought me tremendous relief and was much more helpful then the Physiotherapy which I was receiving on the NHS.At one of our last sessions before my delivery Sara
asked that my husband attend and she showed him some useful massage points which
He could use it with great affect when I was having contractions. When my contractions started to slow down Sara gave me a treatment in my home and within 5 hours I was in St Thomas’ and was 5 cm dilated! I had a number of difficulties during my pregnancy and found Sara to be a wonderful support , she not only relieved my physical aches and pains but always took time to listen to my concerns and provided me with advice and reassurance.

Sara is genuinely passionate about pregnancy and childbirth and is a wonderful companion to have on your journey through pregnancy.

I basically wanted to thank you for giving me a very good start to my labour. It all got a bit dramatic at the end, but I got fully dilated without any pain relief and was calmly breathing through the contractions. I was nearly sent home from hospital as I appeared so calm, but it turned out I was already 8cm on arrival. If only it had continued like that! My son, George, decided to get stuck, causing all manner of dramas, and I ended up having to do a bit of an emergency push resulting in lots of internal damage and a third degree tear. But now I am recovering from all that, I look back very positively on the earlier parts of my labour, and the bits I had control over, and feel proud to have invested the energy in sorting my head out before the event. Your CDs, and visualisation played a massive role in that so thank you very much.

Gentle Birth Method and Doula /Postnatal

I first met Sara when I was in desperate need of a massage. I was going through a stressful time in my life and I needed calmness and focus. Physically I was not feeling my best and mentally I was not much better. I had never had a Thai yoga massage, but it was amazing – much more long lasting than some more superficial massages I felt and saw the results immediately. My skin cleared up and my nerves calmed down so I started to have fairly regular messages with Sara for about a year. Then I became pregnant and Sara told me about how she was studying The Gentle Birth Method. I was already familiar with this methodology and really excited that Sara had done training and was supporting women during their pregnancy and birth.

Throughout my pregnancy I would see Sara as often as possible for reflexology, pregnancy massage and visualisation techniques. And I have to say that I had a very enjoyable, relaxing, healthy pregnancy – and I know it was because of Sara’s support. She really understood what I needed without me having to explain it. She has a sense of understanding that is very deep and selfless. She is professional but understanding and always supportive. Having your first baby is so exciting, but all of the unknowns can be scary. I felt like I was doing the best things possible for my baby and my body by having Sara support me. I know that the calmness I experience during the reflexology and the visualisation is the reason we have a calm, happy, healthy baby.

As for my actual labour/birth I knew that I wanted someone in addition to my husband there for support. But I didn’t want to just hire a doula that I didn’t even know. Sara was the prefect choice and I was thrilled when she accepted. She already knew me & my body and we talked in length about my hopes and fears in terms of labour and giving birth. I had a fairly long labour (24 hours). Sara was with me the entire time! She did not leave my side for a moment, which was especially useful when my husband had to leave the room because of his fear of needles. Although my labour lasted a long time, I never felt afraid. And my baby’s heart rate was always perfect. Sara was either comforting me or doing reflexology to encourage contractions (and it really worked!) I had an epidural sometime in the middle of my labour, which proved to be the perfect time for Sara to do reflexology and visualisation and prepare me for the last and final stage of pushing. I was even able to do some yoga stretches while I had my epidural. In the end, I let the epidural wear off and had my baby girl naturally. I was never worried or scared. Sara was a rock for me. The midwives didn’t really need to be there, her encouragement and her love is what kept me going even though I was exhausted.

Since my pregnancy I have had some massages and reflexology with Sara and will continue to. Thank you just doesn’t say enough. If you are lucky enough to have Sara for a massage, reflexology or to support you in your pregnancy/ birth you will see what I mean. She is the best,

Sara will always have a very special place in my & my husband’s heart.

Baby Alfred arrived last Wednesday, 3.7 kg and 56 cm, so quite big for his age!
The induction etc went ok, had a pessary late monday night, waters partially broken Tues morning, contractions started but didn’t pick up enough so was put on drip after they had given me an extra hour. Was ok on drip without pain relief, but after 2 ish hours most of my waters broke (pretty spectacular, shocked midwife) and contractions got stronger and drip harder to control (7 in a row with no break!), so needed to have an epidural. Was slow going, and he was finally born by ventouse at 03.41 wednesday morning.
Even though it ended up as intervention after intervention, I found the birth prep very helpful. Massage etc through the first 8-ish hrs helped, and found hypnobirthing massively helpful, as managed to stay calm even through the super stressful bits (ventouse! Episiotomy!). I wouldn’t want a birth this full of interventions again, but all things considered I don’t feel traumatised, as I was mostly calm and managed to discuss everything with the consultant underway, and both Alfred and I are doing well. So just wanted to say a huge thank you for your help, will definitely recommend you once you are back from mat leave!
— Anne - Baby Alfred
I adored the baby massage course that I completed with my son Jonah. He squealed and cooed with delight throughout the class and it brought us closer as a Mumma and Son. Doing it when he was so young (3-4 months) felt like the perfect time. Even now at 9 months Jonah stops in his tracks and loves a good rub on his legs or back. Its something that can settle him (during teething) and when overtired a foot rub has calmed him to sleep.
